Sunsets Journey

The sunset drapes the sky, orange then red

Turning day to night

As surf lands upon sand, heavy laden

Travels across the sea

Lava rocks as sentinels, steady immovable

Nature's storyteller

The sand cool to the touch, a canvass

Moment impressions

A century of time, as just a moment

Time traveler

I stand here now, this very moment

In wonder's gaze

As witness of her splendor, oh great mother

Our quiet host

I walk away a footprint left, a simple mark

To be a part

To be erased with tides rise, as moon pulls

A symphony

Her magic will endure long after, eternal

My sojourn

So I walk with sand in toes, prints behind

Sun quenched

As day drifts to night's stars, beyond measure

A kaleidoscope

Is all I am, and all my wanders, just a speck

A grain of sand

In a grand and precious plan, or nothing

Just chaos echoed

As my footprints fade from sand, ever more

A mortal's curse

In a world of endless time, and days anew

A second's view

To learn what the stone knows, resilience

Under assault

To rise and set as the sun, among it all

Warm and bright

And see as the stars, as darkness glimmers

Perspective's birth

My moment in a cosmic orchestra, poetic

Destined to be forgotten
